The 27th International food exhibition WorldFood Moscow was held on September 17-20

The 27th international food exhibition WorldFood Moscow, which finished its work on September 20, this year set a record for the attendance of more than a quarter century of its holding – 30 710 food market specialists from 82 regions of Russia and 98 countries.

This year the exhibition was attended by 1560 participants from 65 countries, the total area of the exhibition - more than 53 thousand square meters.

This year, a record number of buyers — 20 269 people-were also recorded among the visitors of the exhibition.

Azerbaijan, which has become a partner country of WorldFood Moscow for the second time this year and presented about 35 Azerbaijani companies at the single stand Made in Azerbaijan, takes full advantage of the exhibition opportunities. The stand Made in Azerbaijan presented vegetables and fruits, confectionery, dried fruits, tea, soft and alcoholic drinks and much more.

Among the foreign participants, the largest national expositions this year were presented by Algeria (dried fruits, spices, sweets), Argentina (fruits and vegetables), Egypt (all kinds of products), India (tea, rice, spices), Italy (pasta, coffee, jams, wine, olive oil and other products), China (all kinds of products), Korea (fish, seafood and other types of products), Morocco (fish, seafood, fruits, vegetables), Turkey (fruits and vegetables, sweets), South Africa (wine, tea, conservation).

For the first time the exhibition was organized by the national exposition of manufacturers from the Dominican Republic. Permanent participant of WorldFood Moscow-Argentina-this year for the first time presented a collective exposition of fish and seafood producers.

Russian manufacturers and distributors occupied almost half of the exhibition space. A record number of Russian regions presented their collective expositions: Omsk region, Altai territory, Kirov, Pskov, Ulyanovsk regions, the Republic of Kalmykia, the Republic of Karelia, Kostroma region, Krasnoyarsk region, Tyumen region — a total of 19 subjects of the Federation.

This year, the business program of the WorldFood Moscow exhibition has significantly expanded and expanded with completely new activities for buyers of network and non-network retail: free educational program "procurement Academy", WorldFood Business Kitchen, expert panel "Online retail. How to effectively develop the channel".
On the opening day of the exhibition, the key events of the business program-strategic session " Consumer and food retail: evolution or revolution?"and the conference" Modern food retail: how to make money on trends?"designed for top food retailers and business owners.

During the three — day series of 25 events, 180 speakers-retail experts, leading analysts and heads of companies-industry leaders-spoke. The business program was attended by a record number of delegates — 2,243 people.

On September 19, under the auspices of WorldFood Moscow, a business dialogue "Trends in the food industry in Russia and strategies for success" was held, which was attended by about 400 top officials of food manufacturers, distributors, retail chains, HoReCa segment companies, as well as industry unions and associations.

Evgenia Shamis, founder of the project "RuGenerations-theory of generations in Russia", told how the use of the theory of generations affects the success of business. The discussion was also attended by Maher Batruni (Mars), Johannes Tolai (X5 Retail Group), Tatiana Lavrov (Glavprodukt), Elena shifrina (Bite) and Vadim Korsunsky (Mania). The heads of large manufacturing companies discussed new formats of trade-e — commerce, stores without sellers and others, and the processes of interaction between manufacturers and online retailers.

Commercial Director of X5 Retail Group Johannes Tolai on the sidelines of the exhibition once again stressed the importance of the exhibition as a place for meeting and human contact, as it was hundreds of years ago. Despite the fact that IT systems dominate today, the exhibition is important because people meet in an organized way, they have the opportunity to exchange views, touch the product and build new relationships related to this product, Mr. Tolai said.

As part of the WorldFood Moscow exhibition, the annual independent tasting competition "Product of the year" was traditionally held, which is held in accordance with the General requirements of quality and safety to food products in Russia. The competition received 483 sample from 144 companies. As a result of the work of the tasting Commission, the Grand Prix was awarded to 10 companies, 164 products from 83 companies received gold medals, 61 products from 38 companies received silver medals, and 27 products from 18 manufacturing companies were awarded bronze medals.

The second time at WorldFood Moscow was a competition among tea professionals — Tea Masters Cup Moscow, which was organized by the Association "Roschaykofe". The winner of the Moscow qualifier got the right to compete in the national competition Tea Masters Cup Russia. One of the novelties of the site was a special tasting area Tea Bar.
